"This stone has a very sublime pink, a transparency, a unique brilliance," Jean-Marc Lunel Christie's international expert for jewellery said.

"It should also be noted that it's very pure, which is rare, very rare for pink diamonds whose colour comes from enormous pressures exerted at a depth of 250km, at the time of the diamond's formation several years ago."
