PATNA: Super 30 founder and mathematician Anand Kumar on Friday dedicated the Global Education Award he received in Dubai to all his students.
Anand received the award from Malabar Group for his contribution in the field of education and changing the lives of students from the underprivileged sections through his coaching to crack the competitive exams for admission in IITs and NITs across the country.
Speaking at the event, Anand said, “It is a recognition to all those students who worked day and night with me to get into IITs. It is recognition to those parents from underprivileged sections of the society who reposed faith in me. It is their faith that keeps me going.”
He further said, “This award will increase my responsibility to live up to the people’s expectations. Only education can change the lives of students from economically backward sections of the society.”
Giving away the award, Malabar Group co-chairman PA Ibrahim Haji said, “Anand was selected for this award for helping students from the underprivileged sections in achieving higher education.”
Anand launched Super 30 in 2002 to coach free of cost 30 meritorious students from weaker sections of the society every year for the IIT entrance exam. A biopic on Kumar’s life is also being made.
