A woman has died after a minivan carrying six passengers rolled on a rural road.

A Honda Odyssey was driving along Bucca Road, in Coffs Harbour, on the New South Wales north coast, about 3.30pm on Saturday when the horror incident unfolded.

Emergency services were called to the scene and discovered a woman, who was a rear passenger in the vehicle, had died.

The male driver and another male passenger were airlifted to hospital in a serious but stable condition. 

The other three passengers were treated for minor injuries at the scene before being taken to hospital.

The age and identity of those involved in the crash has yet to be released.

Police from Coffs Harbour and Clarence Police District attended and established a crime scene.   

Crash Investigation Unit officers will carry out an investigation into the circumstances surrounding what caused the minivan to crash and roll over.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
