Medical students from civic-run hosp to visit old age home
Shrutika Sukhi | tnn | Nov 10, 2018, 22:45 ISTThane: The medical students of the civic-run hospital are going to spend their Diwali weekend in a special way. Unlike many who are planning trips to friends and relatives places over the weekend, these students are going to visit an old age home in Bhiwandi and spend to day with them. They will also be carrying out a medical check up and provide them with medical aid.
In order to sensitise the first and second year students of Rajiv Gandhi Medical College regarding the plight of patients and their issues and give a practical knowledge about medical aid, the hospital authorities will be taking them to old age homes twice a month.
“As many as 45 students will be visiting an old age home on Saturday. This will be carried out twice a month in order to get them emotionally connected with patients,” said Dr. Sandhya Khadse, dean at Kalwa hospital.
