With South Sectional championships on the line, Saturday afternoon will feature a pair of rematches with the local teams seeking revenge.

The Case volleyball team, along with Somerset Berkley's field hockey squad, will be aiming to bring home South titles this weekend as they both will be matched up against familiar foes.

The Cardinals will be in for their third meeting of the season with South Coast Conference rival and top-seeded Bourne in the Division 3 South volleyball final (Saturday, noon at Silver Lake), while the second-seeded Raiders meet No. 1 Walpole in the Div. 1 South title game (Saturday, 1 p.m. at Taunton).

Case went 0-2 against the Canalmen during the regular season, losing 3-0 and 3-1. This will be a rematch of last year's Division 3 South final.

"We saw them in September and in early October so a lot of things can change," said Case coach Michaela Goncalves. "Regardless of whether you've played someone twice or have never seen a team, our approach has to be that we have to go out and play our best and not worry about what the other team does."

The Cardinals, who have not dropped a set in the postseason, have been playing some of their best volleyball as of late and look to carry that momentum into Saturday's match.

"We're constantly making adjustments, trying to find out our best lineup and what works best for us," Goncalves said. "Our confidence has gotten much better and I think we're trusting ourselves more."

On the field hockey side, Somerset Berkley will be looking to avenge its lone loss of the season, that coming on Sept. 17 in Walpole when the Porkers posted a 2-1 victory.

“We know how they play,” Somerset Berkley coach Jen Crook said after Thursday's 3-1 semifinal win over King Philip, “and I think (SB) would like to seek revenge. We’re going to have to play a strong game from the start.”

Walpole rallied from a 3-1 deficit with nine minutes to play in Thursday's South semifinal game against 13th-seeded Franklin by scoring three unanswered goals and winning 4-3 in overtime.

Somerset Berkley, too, rallied for its semifinal win Thursday, but not nearly in dramatic fashion.

The Raiders trailed 1-0 with 15 minutes to play before Megan Salsinha, Alex Millar and Lucas Crook scored to send SB into Saturday's final.
