T’gana: Sonia Gandhi to campaign on Nov 22-23

HYDERABAD: Congress leaders in Telangana want UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to hold a rally in K Chandrashekhar Rao’s Gajwel when she campaigns in the state on November 22 and 23. The central leadership, however, feels she should campaign in areas where the party is strong and where she can further improve its performance with her rallies.

Sources said Congress leaders feel if Sonia campaigns in Gajwel, it can dent KCR’s image as the man who delivered Telangana. It was under Sonia’s leadership that the Congress Working Committee had agreed to the demand to carve Telangana out of Andhra Pradesh in 2013.
