KVK, Peruvannamuzhi train district Kudumbasree members on nursery establishment

KOZHIKODE: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR) Peruvannamuzhi conducted two-day training programme for Kudumbasree members on planting material production and nursery establishment . The programme concluded here on Friday.
Dr P Ratha Krishnan, programme coordinator, KVK, Peruvannamuzhi conducted sessions with practical classes on seedling production in polybags, pots; propagation by cuttings, grafting, budding, air-layering technicques. The sessions on nursery pest and disease management were also held on the day. Dr Rathakrishnan also taught the patricipants about mini-grafting in vegetables and innovative ways of seedling production during the programmes.
Demonstration on bush pepper production was conducted by Dr P S Manoj, Subject Matter Specialist, KVK on the occasion. A talk on pest and disease identification was delivered by Dr C N Biju, Scientist, Indian institute of Spices Research (IISR) during the two day programme.
Purushan Kadalundi MLA distributed the certificates and nursery kits to participants for starting nursery seedling production activity .
