Woman, son among three killed as car hits scooter

CHANDIGARH/HISAR: Three persons, including a 46-year-old woman and her son, were killed and three others injured as a car rammed into a road divider after hitting a two-wheeler in Shahpur village of Fatehababd district on Friday afternoon. The victims were identified as Pushpa, 46, her son Krishan, 24, and one Mohit.

Hailing from Gangwa village, Pushpa, Krishan and daughter Sonia, 22, were returning home on a scooter after visiting Krishna's parents in Kirtan village of the district. As they reached near Shahpur village, a car coming from the opposite side knocked down their scooter. The driver could not control the car and it hit the divider. Mohit was sitting in the car.


Mohit, a resident of Fatehabad, was returning home with his friends Arun and Sahil after paying obeisance at Khatu Shyam temple in Rajasthan. Arun and Sahil suffered injuries and they were rushed to hospital.


Police said the bodies of Pushpa, Krishan and Mohit had been sent for the postmortem. A case has been registered at Fatehabad Sadar police station.
