KGF will hit screens on December 21, 2018.
The trailer of much-anticipated Kannada film KGF aka Kolar Gold Fields is out. The magnum opus, dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil, chronicles the story of Rocky, played by actor Yash, who grows up in the streets of Bombay and heads to the bloody gold mines of Kolar.
The almost three-minute trailer is packed with lot of bloodshed which establishes that in this battlefield there is no place for love and emotions and only the strong will survive. The official description of the film reads, “Thousands will fall, one will rule. Witness Rocky’s journey from the streets of Mumbai to the bloody gold mines of Kolar.” The background score by Ravi Basrur adds to the grandeur of the trailer and raises the expectations from the album of the movie.
For those who don’t know, Kolar Gold Fields was the biggest mining reserve in the country. For over a century, the town was known for gold mining. It eventually shut down in 2001 due to a low level of gold production.

The two-part period film KGF is touted to be the most expensive film ever made in the Kannada film industry. The producers of the epic film are quite confident about what they have created and are going all out to market the film across the country.
In a big boost to the film, Bollywood’s hit filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar has come on board to distribute the Hindi version of the film under his home production banner, Excel Entertainment.
After being in production for nearly two years, the first part of the period drama, set in the dusty backdrop of mining, will hit the screens in all major Indian languages on December 21, 2018.
Director Prashanth Neel of Ugramm fame has helmed KGF which boasts of an all-star cast, including Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Ramya Krishna, Anant Nag and Achyuth Kumar among others. KGF is bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films production.
