If football is a game of inches, then drag racing is all about decimals, as cars around the world battle each other for bragging rights over who’s fastest when faced with a 1/4 mile stretch of road.

With that in mind, we’d like you to meet the world’s fastest Dodge Charger Hellcat, which recently ran a 1/4 mile in 9.04 seconds at 154 mph (247.8 km/h) during the final event of the 2018 Modern Street Hemi Shootout.

Dubbed the ‘Omega Hellcat’, the car is owned and driven by a father and son team, (Jose and Ruben), who according to Torque News, would rather not disclose their last name.

After consistently running in the mid-9s, they proceeded to fit the car with a Nitrous kit, which nearly put them into the high-8s. Of course, building such a fast car is by no means easy, which is why other mods had to be implemented.

A quick rundown of what makes the Omega Hellcat so fast looks a little something like this: 2.65 upper pulley, ATI 10% lower pulley, ID1300cc injectors, Fore 4L Triple pump fuel system, Nitrous Express plate kit (200 shot), 180° thermostat, DSS one-piece Driveshaft, DSS 1,400 HP axels, Catless mid pipes and an E85 tune. Helping the vehicle put all of its power down is a set of 315/50/17 Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials. As for weight reduction measures, the passenger seat and rear seat were removed during the car’s 1/4 mile runs.

Also, seen as how the Charger’s transmission, supercharger, suspension and brakes are all stock, we think it’s safe to say that more straight-line performance could be extracted in the future.
