It deploys teams to create awareness on preventing spread of vector-borne diseases

NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) has initiated intensive vector control measures and awareness campaigns to combat Dengue in the Township.

According to a press release, a special action force consisting of 20 health workers have been constituted.

The team will make a door-to-door visit to all houses in the Neyveli Township impressing upon the residents the need to keep the surroundings clean. The team will ensure that breeding containers such as discarded tyres, coconut shells, flower pots, boxes, and unused utensils are discarded.

Fogging will be carried out to destroy mosquitoes.

Digital banners

NLCIL has placed digital banners at prominent places in the township to create awareness among the local people on dengue and swine flu. Health Inspectors of NLCIL will be visiting all the schools creating awareness among the students. As part of dengue awareness campaign, members of NLCIL distributed Nilavembu, a herbal concoction, among the people at prominent places in the township. Camps were held at construction sites with the help of NLCIL General Hospital.
