The introduction of new US sanctions will not affect the of consumers on the Crimean peninsula or the work of the TPP company, the said Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the imposed sanctions on three individuals and nine entities over their investment and economic activity in and Donbas. The TPP, formally known as Krymtets AO, is among the sanctioned entities. According to the US Treasury Department, in 2017, the company secured a Russian tender to provide power to Crimean residents until additional power plants are launched on the peninsula.

"The imposition of sanctions will not affect the for consumers on the Crimean peninsula or the work of the Crimea TPP ... The modernization and expansion of one of the facilities of the Crimea TPP - the Sakskaya thermal power plant is carried out with the use of Russian equipment," the ministry said in a statement.
