Former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett has let loose on Malcolm Turnbull in response to the former Prime Minister's first full-blown interview since being ousted from office.
'Malcolm Turnbull is selfish, bitter, twisted and hypocritical,' Mr Kennett told the Sunrise panel this morning.
Mr Turnbull appeared on ABC's Q&A last night, where he blasted his own party for deposing him from the Liberal Party leadership and consequently the top job.
'It never occurred to me that those people would act in a way that was going to be so damaging both to the government, to the party and, frankly, to the nation,' Mr Turnbull said.

Kennett's barbed comments come on the back of Malcolm Turnbull's controversial appearance on ABC's Q&A last night, where he blasted his own party for deposing him from the top job
Mr Turnbull added he could not believe cabinet ministers would act so 'self-destructively' as he went on to name those behind the political coup.
'The insurgency was led by Peter Dutton, was obviously strongly supported by Tony Abbott and others,' he said.
Mr Kennett branded the Prime Minister as 'hypocritical' for complaining about the controversial leadership spill.
He said the former Wentworth MP had led his own takeover, when he deposed former Prime Minister Tony Abbott.
'Four years ago they argued that Malcolm Turnbull and the left hijacked the Liberal party,' he said.
Mr Kennett added despite his dislike at the time for the 2015 changeover, he backed Mr Turnbull.
But he said his support was tested after Mr Turnbull failed to deliver on his promises for 'economic recovery' and boosted 'opinion polls'.
Mr Kennett said Mr Turnbull was like a 'walnut' before suggesting the former PM go back to bed and 'get on with his life'.
Mr Turnbull also came under fire for his deliberate silence during the crucial Wentworth by-election.
The seat was won by independent candidate Kerryn Phelps.
Mr Kennett blamed the defeat on Mr Turnbull's reticence and decision to go overseas at such a pivotal juncture.
He said Mr Turnbull put himself above the Liberal Party and turned the spotlight on himself whenever he got the chance.
Recent One Nation addition Mark Latham also joined the morning show on Channel 7 to jump on the bandwagon.
He said the ABC had delivered a saving for the health budget by giving 'an hour of therapy for Malcolm Turnbull where he could talk about himself'.
