The orders of Punjab and Haryana High court and local Police for crackers brusting timings was violated on Diwali eve in Ludhiana. The city Police has registered 11 cases against unidentified persons for brusting crackers beyond time limit. However, the cases were registered against unidentified persons and no arrested has been made so far. In all the FIRs registered under section 188 of IPC (Violating orders of concerned authority). The Police cited the same reason with the same wording. The FIR reads that while patrolling, the duty officer came to know that some
unidentified persons were brusting crackers beyond the time limit and violated the orders of writ petition filed in Punjab and Haryana high Court and Deputy Commissioner of Police. The court has allowed to burst crackers from 8 Pm to 10 Pm only.
Following the court orders, Deputy Commissioner of Police has issued orders prohibiting the brusting of crackers before or after 8 Pm to 10 Pm. On Diwali night, Division number 1, division number 5, division number 8 and Haibowal Police have registered one case each for violating court and Police order. As many as three cases were registered by Police station Focal Point while two cases each were registered by Police station Meharban and Moti Nagar. The Police officials said that they have mentioned the area in FIR and registered case against unidentified persons. During the investigation, they will find the persons who had violated the court orders. The case was registered against unidentified persons as the name and number of people brusting crackers was not known at the time of registering cases. The accused will be arrested after investigation.
