Papal Seminary’s quasquicentennial jubilee celebrations conclude in the city

Pune: Archbishop Pater Machado of Bengaluru, who presided over the concluding Papal Seminary 125th year celebrations, has urged the seminary’s alumni and present students to help the poor, care for the sick and stand for the downtrodden.

Bishop of Dumka Julius Marandi said that the Papal Seminary has given him good values, which helps him serve his people fruitfully and creatively. 
 
Archbishop Jacob Manathodath, Apostolic Administrator of Ernakulam-Angamali diocese, referred to some crisis affecting the present Church and asked people to solve it.

The others who spoke on the occasion included Pune Bishop Thomas Dabre, President of Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth Fr Selva Rathinam,  Director of  Bengaluru’s St John’s Hospital Fr Paul Parathazham, and  Papal Seminary’s Rector Fr Bhausaheb Sansare. The coordinator of the present jubilee was Fr Joe Francis, Professor of Philosophy at the Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth.

The academic seminar and a farewell dinner was organised by Fr Jacob Kulangara, administrator of De Nobili College and Fr Vincent Crasts, administrator of  the  Papal Seminary.
