BJP veteran revolts, files nomination
TNN | Nov 10, 2018, 03:19 ISTBHOPAL: Powerful Kurmi leader from Bundelkhand and five-time BJP MP Ramkrishna Kusumaria has gone ahead and filed his nomination papers from Damoh and Patharia as an Independent.
He is the second veteran BJP has lost after Satrja Singh, who switched to Congress when denied a ticket and is now contesting as a Congress nominee.
Kusumaria rebelled despite requests by finance minister Jayant Mallaiya and a call from CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Mallaiya is a seven-time MLA from Damoh. After filing his nomination Kusumaria told TOI, “I’m helping BJP as the situation is so bad that the party will lose both Patharia and Damoh,” and thus he was stopping Congress from winning the seats.
