Caused by dryness, pollution, stress, poor shampooing and hair-brushing techniques, and an unhealthy diet, dandruff, also called Seborrhoea, targets the scalps and leads to a score of problems ranging from hair fall to skin issues like pimples and acne.
While there are many expensive treatments available for dandruff in the market, at times it takes nothing more than some easily available items in your kitchen to take care of this menace. Here are some simple tricks to get rid of dandruff.
Coconut oil and lemon
Coconut oil conditions your hair, while lemon juice helps to get rid of dandruff. All you need to do is heat 2-3 tbsp of coconut oil and mix it with equal parts of lemon juice and massage it on your scalp gently.
Neem
Neem has anti-bacterial properties and is an amazing home remedy for treating dandruff. Take a sprig of neem leaf and grind it into a thick paste. Apply it thoroughly on your scalp. After it dries, rinse it off with a mild shampoo.
Fenugreek pack
Fenugreek seeds are highly effective when it comes to dandruff and hair-fall related issues. Just soak some fenugreek seeds in water overnight and mash it into a thick paste the next day. Apply it on your scalp and let it sit for an hour before you rinse it off.
Baking soda
Baking soda is often considered a very effective remedy for a lot of hair and skin related issues. To treat dandruff with baking soda, dampen your hair slightly and rub baking soda on your scalp. Leave it for a minute or two before washing it off.
Curd
Many people swear by curd when it comes to treating dandruff. Just take a bowl of curd, whisk it and apply it all over your scalp. Sit tight for an hour before you wash it off.
