Wadakkanchery MLA Anil Akkara has levelled nepotism allegation against Minority Affairs Minister K.T. Jaleel.

At a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Akkara said the Minister had made many illegal appointments at the Kerala Institute of Local Administration, Mulangunnathukavu.

“After the LDF came to power, 87 people were allowed to continue in service in KILA illegally. Of this, 10 were appointed as local residents without maintaining any guidelines,” he said.

“The KILA administrative committee has taken a decision that all appointments at KILA should be done through the Public Service Commission and short-term appointments, extending more than 90 days, should be done through the employment exchange. But all these guidelines have been violated,” he said.

The Minister has given wrong information in the Assembly for questions in connection with the KILA appointments. The persons appointed included a follower of the SDPI, allegedly involved in the Abhimanyu murder case, he said.
