MP Polls: Case filed against BJP candidate for carrying coins in metal pot

An FIR has been registered against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Narayan Tripathi for allegedly violating model code of conduct before Madhya Pradesh assembly polls. Narayan Tripathi filed his nomination carrying a Rs 10,000 in re 1 coins in metal pot covered in red cloth. He claimed that the money was collected from people as blessings. The metal pot looked like urn for carrying deceased’s ashes, which could have allegedreligious implications. He was carrying 12 metal pots. Tripathi claimed that he has not violated any code of conduct and Congress is blowing this out of proportion.
