The Manasagangothri campus in Mysuru, which houses statues of Buddha, Dr BR Ambedkar and Kuvempu, now has a host of sculptures of Mahatama Gandhi, as the latest attraction. The 27 sculptures give visitors to the campus a peek into prominent historical moments in the life of the Mahatma and have been put together by nearly 34 sculptors from different parts of Karnataka.
The sculptures were put up with the support of Department of Kannada and Culture, Karnataka Shilpakala Academy and Rangayana to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi this year. The statues are yet to be completed and will soon be painted silver. The statues can be viewed near Gandhi Bhavan.
