To preserve culture and tradition of Maharashtra and take it to next generation, a group of six friends in Dombivali formed Swarbramhand. The group encourage people to make Fort during Diwali and preserve the rich cultural and tradition. Formed on May 1, 2016, the group involved in various activities from Fort making to Diwali Pahat, to preserve the rich culture and traditional of Maharashtra.
Saurabh Lotlikar, one of the founder member says that Maharashtra is losing it’s cultural and traditional values day by day, and in order to retain the rich cultural of Maharashtra they decided to take this initiative and formed Swarbramhand. He added that the purpose of Swarbramhand is to enlightening people’s heart about the social cause of tradition and values.
Lotlikar said there is a new beginning after they formed the Swarbramhand.
“Till now, be it the occasion of gudi padwa or Ganpati or Navratri, Swarbramhand has always won hearts of audiences by musical performances (as Dhol Tasha pathak) and other initiatives,” said another member of the group. He added that in October 2018 Swarbramhand got registered and became Swarbramhand Yuva Pratishthan, Dombivali. Diwali is a festival of lights, but with lights there is an untold tradition of constructing forts.
“In today’s modern society, young generation is losing this tradition. And to revive that Swarbramhand Yuva Prarishthan is organising Kille Bandhani Spardha - 2018 ( Fort Building Competition),” said Lotlikar. He added that he has received overwhelming response. “On Saturday and Sunday, we will evaluate all participants forts and result will be announced on November 18,” said Lotlikar.
He added that top three forts will be felicitated with trophy while participants will get momento.
