Reports of Warangal West being allotted to TDP surface

Hundreds of Congress party workers staged a demonstration demanding party ticket for District Congress Committee (DCC) president Naini Rajender Reddy here on Thursday.

Following the reports that Warangal West constituency was being allotted to the TDP as part of the seat adjustment in the grand alliance, the supporters of Mr. Rajender Reddy gathered at his party office in Hanamkonda. They demanded that the AICC refrain from giving the seat to any party but Mr. Rajender Reddy.

Dedicated worker

They said Rajender Reddy has been working for the party with dedication since two decades and kept the cadre intact by taking care of their welfare. If Warangal West is allotted to any other person other than Rajender Reddy, the party would lose to TRS.

City Congress committee president Katla Srinivas Rao said Rajender Reddy was promised of the ticket this time and if the party denies him, it would send a very bad message to the cadre. “We will not support any candidate including the grand alliance candidate. Only Mr. Rajender Reddy is capable of defeating the sitting TRS MLA D Vinay Bhaskar. The TDP lot public patronage in Warangal West completely and people are not ready to accept any candidate except Mr. Rajender Reddy,” he said.

Meanwhile, the DCC president Mr. Rajender Reddy urged the party workers not to resort to extreme act as an official declaration was still pending. He said the party workers were being mislead by reports of the constituency being allotted to the TDP.

“I am confident that the TPCC will give me the ticket. The survey reports too supported my candidature and victory to the party in Warangal West this time,” he said.
