After the Statue of Unity was dedicated to the nation by the PM, people from across India have been thronging there. The world's tallest statue saw at least 7,000 tourists every day in the first few days, and now the administration is ready to welcome around 15,000 tourists daily at the site.

The managing director of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust (SVPRET), a state government organisation, has been managing things at the site. They have added more facilities and tourist attractions as well.

Managing Director of SVPRET and IAS officer Sandeep Kumar said: "We have started air-conditioned hop-on-hop off buses to ferry visitors in the complex of the statue and Sardar Sarovar Dam. This service is available at a very low cost, and they can visit the statue, Sardar Sarovar Dam, the junction from where Narmada water is flown into canals across the state, flower valley, tent city, food park and other places nearby."

The bus service will have a pick up point at Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat Bhavan, the guest house near the Statue of Unity where the parking area is also located. Moreover, cafeterias, restaurants and other outlets of renowned food chain have also become operational.

"Diwali and days after festival is the time of vacation in Gujarat and this is the peak period for tourism in the state. We expect to see a huge flock of tourists at the Statue of Unity. This could be more than our average daily estimate of 15,000 tourists at the site," Kumar added.

Sources from the tourism department also said that the tent city at the site also saw overwhelming response from visitors.
