Young actress' testimony of sexual harassment by Geoffrey Rush is 'rife with contradictions, inconsistencies and recent invention', court hears
- Rush's lawyer said the young actress's testimony was rife with 'inconsistencies'
- She said that the judge also had to consider 'a sea of absent witnesses'
- Ms Norvill repeatedly denied lying when she was in the witness box
The testimony of the young actress who accused Geoffrey Rush of sexual harassment is 'rife with contradictions, inconsistencies and recent invention,' a court heard.
'Her evidence has to be considered against the sea of absent witnesses - and there's a lot of them,' Ms Chrysanthou said.

Ms Norvill repeatedly denied lying when she was in the witness box and The Telegraph's lawyer Mr Blackburn has told Justice Michael Wigney she had no motive to do so.
On Thursday, Ms Chrysanthou said the judge didn't need to wonder why she would lie.
'What could possibly be her motive to lie? Who cares! That's not Your Honour's job,' she said.

Oscar winning actor Geoffrey Rush (pictured) became embroiled in the controversy after the Daily Telegraph published two separate articles based on informal complaints made by his colleague
Ms Chrysanthou had been giving her final submissions for Geoffrey Rush, 67, as he sues The Daily Telegraph's publisher Nationwide News and journalist Jonathon Moran for defamation over two articles and a newsagent poster published late in 2017.
The articles detailed allegations he 'behaved inappropriately' toward Ms Norvill during a Sydney Theatre Company production of King Lear in 2015 and 2016.
The Oscar winning actor has denied the allegations and said the Telegraph portrayed him as a pervert and sexual predator.
Nationwide News denies the newspaper conveyed those imputations about Rush but is arguing they are substantially true after Ms Norvill - who didn't participate in the articles - agreed to testify.
The trial continues.
