White House revokes CNN correspondent's credentialsThe White House has revoked the press pass for CNN's Chief White House correspondent, Jim Acosta. That's after a fiery exchange at a press conference on Wednesday (November 8), where Acosta challenged the President for calling the migrant caravan heading for the States, an invasion: (SOUNDBITE) (English) PRESIDENT TRUMP AND CNN WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT JIM ACOSTA: ACOSTA: They're hundreds of miles away. They're hundreds and hundreds of miles away. TRUMP: You, you know what? ACOSTA: That's not an invasion. TRUMP: Honestly? I think you should let me run the country you run CNN and if you did it well your ratings would be much better. Ok, that's enough. TRUMP: I'll tell you what. CNN should be ashamed of itself having you work for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn't be working for CNN. Sarah Huckabee Sanders - the White House Press Secretary - tweeted after, that the White House has suspended Acosta's pass until further notice. And added: "We will never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job" The White House alleges Acosta touched that intern as she attempted to take the mic. Reuters' White House correspondent Jeff Mason was sat next to Acosta: (SOUNDBITE) (English) REUTERS WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT JEFF MASON: "I was at the press conference sitting next to Jim Acosta today when the incident happened when the intern came and reached for the microphone and Jim basically just held onto it and he used his arm to defend his hold on the microphone but he did not place his hands on her as the White House alleged." The microphone eventually made its way to NBC's Peter Alexander (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Go ahead Peter. (SOUNDBITE) (English) PETER ALEXANDER, NBC: REPORTER: In Jim's defense, I've traveled with him and watched him. He's a diligent reporter -- TRUMP: Well, I'm not a big fan of yours either to be honest. | |||||
