Meet the Palisade, Hyundai’s Brand New 3-Row SUV

Building a little hype before its official public unveiling, Hyundai has announced its new three-row utility vehicle will be called the Palisade.

Replacing the South Korean automaker’s Santa Fe XL, this vehicle was shown to select media, including AutoGuide.com, at a private event in Michigan earlier today.

Aside from the name, specific details about the Palisade, from its size and powertrains to the features will offer are strictly embargoed, meaning we can’t breathe a word about them at this time. Fortunately, you won’t have to wait long to learn more about this vehicle. Its public debut is scheduled for the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, which opens to media on November 28, just a couple short weeks away.

You may or not be surprised the Santa Fe XL is being retired. We’ve heard murmurs that Hyundai was planning on introducing a new utility vehicle named the Palisade. AutoGuide.com broke the news when we uncovered a patent filing from the automaker protecting the Palisade name way back in April.

For an early glimpse at what this product could look like, spy photos of a likely test mule were also snapped over the summer, possibly giving inquiring eyes a rough idea of the Palisade’s general proportions.
