Three girl inmates of an orphanage in Falaknuma who went missing on Monday were traced in Sedam, Karnataka. According to Chatrinaka police, two of the inmates, one 12 years old and the other 7 years old, are siblings. The third inmate, a 13-year-old, a friend of the siblings, is said to have accompanied them.

Police said that while the girls went missing on Monday, orphanage coordinator C. Sujatha approached the police with a complaint on Wednesday. “The orphanage staff looked for the girls on their own, but could not find them. They then approached us. The siblings’ father died and they have a mother who lived in Musheerabad. Upon making inquires, the landlord said the mother left two months ago. We then traced the girls at Sedam in Karnataka,” a source from the Chatrinaka police station said.

The source said that while the girls are not orphans, they come from poor families which is why they were admitted in the orphanage.
