RTI activist attacked in Meghalaya, critical
Manosh Das | TNN | Nov 9, 2018, 04:00 ISTSHILLONG: RTI activist Agnes Kharshiing and her associate Anita Kharshiing were attacked by unidentified miscreants in East Jaintia Hills on Thursday and taken to a hospital in Shillong in critical condition.
According to reports, she had gone to the coal-rich Lad Rymbai area and was attacked while returning to Shillong. The women were attacked when they were taking pictures of coal-laden trucks. Agnes has campaigned against the illegal mining carried out by the coal mafia in the state.
