Google Pixel 3 memory management issue will be fixed soon via a software update, Google said in a statement to 9to5Google. The company said that it is aware of the memory management issue causing app crash on its latest Pixel 3 series and that a fix is coming soon. “We’re rolling out a software update in the coming weeks to keep background apps from being prematurely closed in certain situations,” Google told the website.

The memory management issue was reported soon after the launch of Google Pixel 3 flagship models in October this year. Pixel 3 early adopters reported the issue that was killing apps running in the background. Several users cited that running certain apps such as music apps and opening Pixel 3’s camera in between caused some devices to ‘force’ stop the background apps.

Google has not specified any timeline as of when it plans to roll out an update for the devices to fix the issue. However, reports suggest that the update might arrive with December’s security patch.

Besides the memory management flaw, the new Pixel 3 series was plagued by several issues including video recording and image capture issue. Recent reports revealed Google’s Pixel Stand breaking ambient display notifications on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. The company has reportedly confirmed that it will fix the issue soon.

To recall, the new Google Pixel 3 flagship series made its debut at the company’s hardware event this October. The smartphones feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, single 12.2MP rear camera and dual front-facing cameras. Google Pixel 3 comes for a price of Rs 71,000 for the base model and goes all the way up to Rs 80,000. Meanwhile, the bigger variant Pixel 3 XL costs Rs 83,000 for the base model and Rs 92,000 for the high-end model.
