Pune: The Papal Seminary, a centre of philosophical and theological formation of Christian leaders in the country, launched its 125th year celebrations here on Tuesday evening. About 300 alumni from various parts of the country have arrived at the institute to commemorate the event.

Fr Bhausaheb Sansare (SJ), Rector of Papal Seminary, said this coming together is a spiritual experience “when we recall our past days in view of our common future.” The motto of the 125th year celebration is “Looking back with gratitude, looking forward with hope.” Fr Joe Francis is the coordinator of the jubilee celebration.

A three-day academic seminar, starting November 6 evening, has been organised on the occasion. There will also be en Eucharist in Syro-Malabar rite, offered by Rev Msgr Emmanuel Kadankaavial, Vicar General, Kalyan Eparchy.
