(SOUNDBITE) DENNIS HOF SAYING: "Dennis Hof is the Trump of Pahrump" He was a colorful character in life but also now in death, Dennis Hof, who also called himself "America's best-known pimp", managed to win a seat Tuesday in Nevada's state assembly...despite having died last month.

(upsound of him walking) With his name still on the ballot, the late strip-club owner who owned five legal brothels in the state beat his Democratic challenger..

Under Nevada law, state officials can appoint another Republican to fill the vacancy… Hof said Donald Trump's win in 2016 inspired him to dabble in politics… He starred in HBO's adult reality series "Cathouse" and wrote a book titled "The Art of the Pimp".

Foul play was not reported.

Officials had mailed ballots out before his death allowing the dead brothel-owner's name to remain on the ticket.
