AHMEDABAD: A 26-year-old man from Ajmer who moved to city a month ago, alleged that he was cheated by two unknown men who hypnotized him and made off with Rs 10,000 and two cellphones worth Rs 6,000, on Tuesday evening near Vastrapur lake. The complainant — Kamalkishor Panchal told Vastrapur police that he was walking towards a mall in Vastrapur where he works as a cashier and as he was passing by the SBI branch there, a man approached him.

“The man started walking alongside me and put his hand on my shoulder while asking about my native village and profession. Meanwhile, another man came there and told me he will bring me good fortune. They somehow made me change my direction and took me to a bank ATM. They had then asked me to give them all the money I had and I obeyed them. They also took both my cellphones and fled,” said Panchal in the FIR.
