Gunman of cop held for threatening lover’s husband

HYDERABAD: A gunman of a senior police officer was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly threatening his lover’s husband with a gun on Monday night.
The accused was identified as Ch Ramesh (25), a resident of Singappaguda village, Chevella mandal. According to the complainant, K Raju, a resident of Himayatnagar, Ramesh was at his house with Raju’s wife, with whom he was allegedly having an affair, on Monday at around 11pm. When Rajuquestioned them together, Ramesh allegedly threatened him with a pistol.
“Raju alleged that Ramesh and his wife were having an extramarital affair. We are yet to investigate whether these allegations are correct,” said inspector of Moinabad Venkateswarlu. Ramesh allegedly threatened to shoot the complainant if he shouts. To escape from him, Raju fell down and sustained head injuries, police said.
Ramesh was produced before court on Tuesday and remanded to judicial custody. He was suspended on Tuesday. He was booked under relevant sections of the Arms Act.
