Democratic Rep.

Jacky Rosen  has defeated  Republican Sen.

Dean Heller in the Nevada senate race.

Heller  held a slight lead  over Rosen in polling ahead of the election, despite Hillary Clinton taking Nevada in the 2016 election.   President Donald Trump visited Nevada in October to  campaign for Heller .

Just two days later, former President Barack Obama  also made a visit  to the state to stump for Rosen.   Rosen was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2016.
