Woman booked for abetting youth’s suicide

Pune: An FIR has been registered against a 26-year-old woman from Pune with Deccan Gymkhana police station for allegedly abetting suicide of a youth. They were reportedly in a relationship for five years and she had refused to marry him. 

The deceased was identified as Adarsh (27). His mother Lata Surendra Chikate (51) of Malegaon in Akola district lodged the complaint with the police. 

According to the police, Adarsh allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at a hotel in Deccan area on October 24. The police had registered a case of accidental death (AD). Now based on the complaint from his mother, the police have booked Trupti Jirapure from Pune for offences under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
