Man stabbed to death in Chennai

CHENNAI: A gang murdered a man at Nookampalayam near Medavakkam here on Wednesday following a quarrel over setting off firecrackers on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeepkumar, a resident of TNHB quarters at Nookampalayam.
Police said Sandeepkumar, who was drunk, attacked a man following a quarrel with him over lighting firecrackers in a street on Tuesday, on the occasion of Diwali.
The man informed his friends. He and his friends encountered Sandeepkumar on Wednesday morning. They beat him up and stabbed him to death.
The Pallikaranai police registered a murder case and launched a hunt for the suspects.
