The Collective NB theatre company is celebrating three years of productions this Saturday, Nov. 10.

To commemorate “this third trip around the sun,” they will be presenting five brand new plays written by local playwrights and performed by local actors, a press release about the event states.

The playwrights got to choose from a series of writing prompts and were told which actors were to be in their cast, then had 10 days to each write a new short play.

The actors and directors are spending the week leading up to the show working on their scripts and then present them this Saturday at Gallery X.

But that's not all.

The event is also a celebration, so there will be live music, food provided by The Collective NB’s local sponsors, and a karaoke contest to wrap up the night.

The audience is encouraged to take part in the karaoke contest and a prize will be awarded to the victor.

Everyone is invited to Gallery X, 169 William St., Saturday “to enjoy a night of fun and entertainment,” the group invites.

Doors are at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door, payable with cash or card.
