PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Board of Directors of Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice, formerly known as Visiting Nurses of Newport and Bristol Counties, recently appointed Jennifer W. Fairbank, to be the next chief executive officer of the agency. A seasoned health care executive, Fairbank has served on numerous boards and committees both locally and nationally, addressing the challenging statutory and legislative complexities in the long term care industry.

Fairbank is currently executive director at South County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 120-bed nursing center that is part of the Genesis Health Care system. She has been executive director through two corporate acquisitions and maintained senior staffing and quality services. As a successful executive director, Fairbank brings aggressive oversight of program effectiveness, quality outcomes, expense control, budget management and regulatory compliance to her new role.

A graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a BSN, Fairbank is a resident of East Greenwich and will bring a network familiarity from the western communities of Rhode Island that will augment Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice’s recently expanded service areas.
