When the mother, waiting for her husband, fell asleep, Vishwakarma allegedly lifted the child and ran away.

When the mother woke up, she realised that the boy was missing and approached police.

Following a tip-off from an auto rickshaw driver, a GRP team traced Vishwakarma's address in Tulinj area of and arrested her and rescued the child.

Vishwakarma allegedly told police that she stole the boy as she was childless.

The boy was handed over to his mother.
