LUCKNOW: Piqued over the alleged police inaction in filing a murder and a gangrape case against local politicians, a woman from Rae Bareli along with her two minor daughters attempted self immolation near CM's residence at 5, Kalidas Marg, on Monday.

Security personnel overpowered the woman and her daughters. Later, they were taken to Civil hospital in Hazratganj.

According to police, Anita Singh (40), with her daughters reached CM residence around 11 am.

Once they reached the entrance, she doused kerosene over herself and on her daughters.

However, before she could light the fire, the police acted quickly and foiled her attempt.

Circle officer, Hazratganj, Abhay Mishra, said that the woman had complained about police not filing an FIR in her father, mother, brother and sister's murder case.

"We have informed the Rae Bareli SP to look into the issue," added Mishra.
