Our party has candidate for CM post: Abhay
Kumar Mukesh | TNN | Nov 6, 2018, 07:22 ISTHisar: The party has a candidate for the chief minister’s post in Haryana, INLD leader and leader of opposition Abhay Singh Chautala said here on Monday. The Ellenabad MLA was addressing a joint workers’ meeting of INLD and BSP in Hisar at Devi Lal Sadan when he indirectly attacked Dushyant, saying, “If you shout slogans in my name, I will start getting a feeling that the whole country is with me.”
Abhay had earlier attacked Dushyant on Sunday, saying he was either stupid or lying to the people by claiming that he had not received a copy of the notice of expulsion from INLD. He reiterated that there were some paid workers of Congress in the Gohana rally on October 7, who spoiled the atmosphere during the event. He said such attempts were also made during the foundation day celebrations of INSO in Kaithal. “Even there, I had said openly that some people who are blowing whistles and raising slogans could not be INLD workers. They must the workers of the Congress party,” he said.
During the Gohana rally, he said, there were some persons who wanted to sabotage the event. “They tried to spoil such a huge rally, but we maintained our composure,” he said.
He added that a decisive action plan on Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal would be announced soon and its strategy would be worked out in a joint meeting of INLD and BSP on November 15. Abhay also asked workers to publicize party’s key poll announcements of waiver of farm debts, reducing rates of electricity and Rs 3,000 monthly old age pension for the beneficiaries in Haryana.
Others who attended the meeting included INLD’s Hisar unit president Satbir Sisai, state vice-president Satbir Verma, former MLA Saroj Mor and INLD youth wing president Jassi Patwar among others.
Dushyant, Digvijay should join Cong: Ranjit
Hisar: INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala’s estranged brother Ranjit Singh had a word of advice for Dushyant and his younger brother Digvijay on Monday, saying they should join the Congress instead of the BJP. Ranjit had quit INLD years ago to join the Congress. He said the Congress was currently strong in the state and the siblings would benefit by joining it. He said his father Devi Lal and brother Om Prakash were also in the Congress before Haryana was carved out of Punjab. In response to a question about the internal rift in the Chauala family, he replied that he would rather not comment on it.
No slogans please: Abhay to party workers
