Simbu starrer Vandha Rajavaanthan Varuven is helmed by Sundar C.
The first look poster revealing the title of actor Simbu’s upcoming film, which is being helmed by hit-filmmaker Sundar C, was released on Tuesday. The movie has been titled Vandha Rajavaanthan Varuven, which roughly translates to, βI will only return only as the king.β The movie name is inspired by a punch line delivered by Simbu in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, a gangster drama made by director Mani Ratnam.
Vandha Rajavaanthan Varuven is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Attarintiki Daredi, which was written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The Tamil remake has Simbu reprising the lead role, which was originally played by Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan.

While Megha Akash and Catherine Tresa are playing the female leads, Bigg Boss Tamil fame Mahat Raghavendra is also playing a pivotal role in the movie. It also stars comedian Yogi Babu.
After completing this movie, which is bankrolled by Lyca Productions, Sundar C is expected to start making his ambitious period drama Sangamithra.

Simbu will next join hands with Venkat Prabhu for the movie named Maanadu. He also has Vinnaithaandi Varuven (a sequel to Gautham Menonβs Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya) and projects with Vijaya Productions and Kalaipuli S Thanu, respectively, in the pipeline.
In addition to his existing commitments, Simbu is composing music for 90 ml, starring Oviya in the lead. Last year, he had also announced a project, which will be made in English, and dubbed in regional languages.
