Child involved in hit and run in Canberra's north
ACT Policing are calling for witnesses to a possible hit and run involving a child in Moncrieff on Monday.
Police said a blue vehicle hit a child after exiting a roundabout on Slim Dusty Drive about 5.20pm.
They believe that while the driver stopped briefly after the collision, the motorist did not attempt to check on the child's welfare before leaving the area along Rochelle Street.
“If you are the driver in question in this incident, I would urge you to contact police as soon as possible,” ACT Policing's officer in charge of traffic operations, acting station sergeant David Wills, said.
Police have not detailed any information about whether the child was hurt in the incident.
ACT Ambulance Service did not attend the scene.
Police ask anyone with information or dash-cam footage that could help to contact ACT Policing Operations on 131 444.
