pahlaj nihalani on the cuts in rangeela raja Pahlaj Nihalani and Govinda have reunited for Rangeela Raja after 25 years.

The Bombay High Court’s vacation bench on Tuesday refused to hear CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) chairperson and filmmaker Pahlaj Nihalani’s plea over cuts to his film on urgent basis. Nihalani had moved the court against 20 cuts to his film Rangeela Raja.

During an interaction with the media after visiting the Bombay High Court on Monday, Nihalani said, “CBFC has ordered too many cuts in my film. They have given UA certificate to Rangeela Raja. So, I have moved the High Court for relief. They have not followed any guidelines. I have been a part of the CBFC and I have been a film director and producer. I have never made films which would have anything worth a cut. Why this film? These cuts are unjustified and uncalled for.”

Nihalani claimed that the cuts are unjust and uncalled for as the Govinda starrer is not vulgar. Pointing fingers at the current CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi, he added, “People from our society know what films they want to watch and what films they do not want to watch. I have been a producer before and I am a producer even today. It is just that I was given the duty to lead the CBFC, so I did my job faithfully. But today, Prasoon Joshi doesn’t even go to the office. In his absence, the proxy chairman is clearing films from all over the country.” He also demanded Joshi be sacked as he never sits in the office.
