A former police woman has pleaded guilty to falsely accusing her ex-boyfriend of raping her and creating her own staged crime scene before calling police.

The woman, 28, from Canberra, told the court she staged a fake crime scene in her home by planting a condom wrapper and knocking her head to make her story more 'believable.'

When police first arrived to the scene, they found a peg basket overturned in her front yard and heard the woman calling for help.

Police found her laying on the tiled floors with a bump on her head and the top bottom of her jeans were undone.

A condom wrapper was also found by police but it didn’t match the brand found at her ex boyfriend’s home, Fairfax Media reports.

Police arrested her ex boyfriend and he was sent to Goulburn Supermax prison for three months.

The court heard, the couple had broken up and they were arguing over their shared property when the allegation was first made.

The ex NSW police woman pleaded guilty to her false accusation charges ahead of her hearing and awaits sentencing in January.
