Like father, like daughter! Brooke Warne, 21, puffs away on a cigarette at the Melbourne Cup - just like her cricket star dad Shane

Cricket's 'spin king' Shane Warne has long been known to be fond of a cigarette.

And it seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Photos taken at the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday show Shane's 21-year-old daughter Brooke engaging in the unhealthy habit.

Brooke was snapped at Flemington racecourse enjoying a cigarette with friends.

The blonde, who is Shane's daughter with ex-wife Simone Callahan, was dressed to impress for a day at the races, wearing a vibrant shoulderless red frock.

She teamed the looked with black mesh headpiece, an array of jewellery and added an extra pop of colour with a manicure in the same hue as her dress.

Brooke enjoyed a smoke break in the company of two with two other besuited men.

Brooke's father Shane has a well-documented history of lighting up and was famously paid $200,000 to quit his rumoured 50-a-day habit by nicotine substitute company Nicorette

However, just days before the four-month sponsorship was due to end, Shane was spotted lighting up at a Barbados bar while on a West Indies tour in 1999. 

'I had one cigarette in the West Indies and the Nicorette people know about that,' Shane admitted after photos of him smoking were published.

 Regarded as one of the greatest spin bowlers of all time, Shane smoked throughout his 22-year international cricket career.

He was frequently pictured enjoying a cigarette, including In 1997 as he stood next to fellow legend Adam Gilchrist during the Ashes.  

 In the years following, Shane appeared to have difficulty in kicking the habit for good.

When the cricketer entered the jungle on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, he vowed to cut back on his smoking habit.

Admitting he was a 'heavy smoker' Shane told viewers he hoped he would be able to cut back on smoking while on the show.

But unlike other contestants, it later emerged he was allowed to light up behind the scenes.

 Later that year Shane was photographed smoking a cigarette after completing a charity run for cancer.

Along with Brooke, Shane shares two other children with his ex-wife Simone: 19-year-old Jackson and 16-year-old Summer. 

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Brooke for comment.
