A youth and his friend, both hailing from New Delhi were feared drowned in the Bay of Bengal at Kottakuppam near here on Monday.

According to police, Anshul Girish Aswathi (21) and Enakshi Valia (21), reportedly in a relationship,

checked into a lodge at Kottakuppam in Villippuram district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday and went for a bath in the sea on Monday.

Swift under currents pulled both of them into the sea. Fishermen tried to save them, but in vain. A case has been registered and fire personnel have been engaged to retrieve the bodies.
