ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) The 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards took place in Beverly Hills on Sunday (November 4) marking the official start of the entertainment industry's awards season, which culminates with the Oscars (Academy Awards) in February.

The Hollywood Film Awards can be a good predictor of what might happen during the upcoming awards season.

More than 320 stars, directors, writers and producers have been highlighted here in the past 22 years, with more than 130 having then garnered Oscar nominations and/or wins.

The awards ceremony was hosted by actress and comedian, Awkwafina, who is finding herself in a star-making moment with her role in Crazy Rich Asians, as well as Oceans 8 and a recent stint as an SNL host.

The winners, which are pre-arranged, included Nicole Kidman being honored with the "Hollywood Career Achievement Award," Glenn Close for the "Hollywood Actress Awards," Hugh Jackman for the "Hollywood Actor Award," Damien Chazelle for the "Hollywood Director Award," Timothee Chalamet for the "Hollywood Supporting Actor Award."
