Nothing will rain on their parade! Elyse Knowles and Lindy Klim brighten up a dreary Melbourne Cup Day in colourful ensembles as they keep cover with other celebrities in The Birdcage

It may be the race that stops the nation, but often it's the celebrity fashion that turns heads trackside at Flemington race course.

Leading the star arrivals at Melbourne Cup on Tuesday was Balinese princess Lindy Rama-Ellis (née Klim), who never puts a foot wrong when it comes to fashion.

The glam star, 40, braved Melbourne's rainy weather in a bold pink dress with long sleeves and stylish headband.

The fuchsia frock clung to the mother-of-four's svelte frame, as the sleeves showed off her sculptured arms.

Despite the wintry conditions, Lindy put on a leggy display with a pair of silver metallic peep-toe heels.

Her brunette locks were placed back into a messy bun, with small strands falling out to frame her face.

Lindy accessorised the ensemble with a silver cross body clutch, which seemed to complement the silver strip design on her dress.

Sunrise presenter Samantha Armytage looked chic in an off-the-shoulder navy frock, with material tie detailing around her shoulders.

The TV journalist, who had been presenting trackside during Seven's breakfast show broadcast, looked positively radiant despite the early wake-up call.

Sam paraded a large floral fascinator atop her blond locks, and accessoised with a black box clutch and heels.

After being refused entry to the Birdcage at a Melbourne Cup carnival event last year for wearing his signature cravat, he safely opted for a silk tie instead.

Walking into the event by himself, he was seen carrying a Coles recycle bag and an umbrella.
