Jharkhand cabinet increases honorarium of Aganwadi workers

The Cabinet Monday decided to increase the monthly of sevikas and sahaikas.

While the monthly of Aganwadi sevikas has been enhanced to Rs 5,900 from Rs current Rs 4,400 that of sahaikas to Rs 2,950 from existing Rs 2,900, an official release, quoting the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Raghubar Das, said.

The central/state governments spend in the ratio of 60:40 in Aganwadi centres.

The Cabinet also decided to give Rs 250 per month to sahaikas as encouragement allowance pertaining to nutrition campaign, depending upon their work performance, the release said.

The sevikas of Laghu (minor) Kendra will get Rs 4,200 per month. Presently, they are getting Rs 2,950.

The Cabinet also decided to give Rs 500 per month to Anganwadi sevikas and Laghu Anganwadi Kendras sevikas as encouragement allowance pertaining to nutrition campaign, the release said.

All the enhanced honorariums will be effective from October 1, 2018, the release said.
